Description:

Unrated Sections (4 Rounds):

  • No Score - Pre-K to K;  students who are absolute beginners

  • Novice I - Grades K-1; for kids who know how to play chess but who are inexperienced in playing in a chess tournament

  • Novice II - Grades 2-5; for elementary students who know how to play chess but who are inexperienced in playing in a chess tournament

 

Rated Sections (4 Rounds - G/30;d5):

  • K-1 - K-1 with USCF Rating below 500

  • Booster -K-8 with USCF Rating below 600

  • Reserve - K-12 with USCF Rating within 600-999

  • Classic - K-12 with USCF Rating within 1000-1400

  • Cumulative Score, Head-to-head, Buccholz

 

Rules:

  • None of the kids attending the tournament will be allowed to play up in any section unless specific situations happen. In the case of having an odd number of kids in one of the sections, the Main Tournament Director will make the decision.

  • For Rated Section, current USCF MEMBERSHIP, notating the game on a score sheet and the use of a chess clock is required. Please bring your own chess clock, if you have one.
